Unlocking Your Creativity: Short Courses for Beginners — London (Waterloo)

This 4 week workshop (attendance 1 night a week or during the day on the weekend) provides beginners of creative writing the opportunity to experiment with different styles and to sample a myriad of subject matter. The course looks to harness personal experiences and identify creative stimuli to help writers produce theatrical pieces, short stories and improve their technical skills. Each workshop begins with a short presentation that drives the focus of a particular subject discussion. This is followed by a series of creative writing exercises and the opportunity to read out your own work. Attendance is 11–1; cost: £85 (Payment by installment possible)

Working Words: Six Week Creative Writing Course — Leeds

Becky Cherriman will guide this workshop, leading a group of writers through The Tetley. Using the furniture, architecture and artifacts as stimulus, attendants will investigate a hidden history, a mysterious past behind this historic building; this venture will help spur creative thoughts.

Writers’ Room Monthly Workshops - Clapham
These on-going workshops aid those who wish to explore new themes and experiment with style and form in a group environment. You will receive professional feedback, share work with fellow writers and receive tuition on technique and writing development. cost: £30 for a one-off, £125 for 5, £225 for 10 on-going monthly workshops with flexible attendance

Writing Fiction with Bernardine Evaristo - Leeds

Exploring  characterisation, structure and subject matter, plot  setting, language, style and originality, this workshop lead by  writer Bernardine Evaristo will help those already writing develop an improved technique and develop their writing skills. Attendance 11am-17pm; fee: £12/£15

Short Fiction Writing Course — Farringdon (London)

A mixture of creative and technical workshops, this evening course conducted on Wednesdays at the Free Word Centre gives writers the chance to write, develop and receive feedback on short story fiction. Learn the basics or brush up on your creative writing skills with Unlocking Your Creativity’s specialised eight week course. (fee: £165 ((possible to pay by installments)))

Preparing for Publication: Building Web Presence — London 

Kristen Harrison, founder of The Curved House,  is conducting this 3 hours seminar to help writers build an online presence in today’s digital market. Harrison will providing guidance with social media, book design, insight into constructing author centralised websites and provide inside knowledge of the electronic literature market. Attendance 10am-1pm; fee: £72/£90)
